AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
Professor Dahiya specializes in Corporate Finance, Corporate Restructuring, Banking and Financial Institutions. His research
examines the benefits of establishing strong lending relationships for banks and their corporate borrowers. He has also examined portfolio
decisions of international funds and the evolution of financial exchanges. Professor Dahiya received the Dean's Disntiguished Faculty Research Award in 2007.
He currently teaches the core Finance courses for MBA and Executive MBA pargrams. He also teaches a course on Venture Capital. He was nominated for the University-wide
Dorothy Brown teaching award for two years in running (2004, 2005). In 2007 BusinessWeek Magazine
listed him as the favorite business school professor of Georgetown undergraduate students. BusinessWeek's List of Favorite Professors

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Professor Dahiya spent two years working in the Corporate Finance and Strategy practice of McKinsey & Company , a leading strategy consulting firm. He worked with CEOs and CFOs of Fortune 500 firms in Healthcare, Financial Services and Chemical industries focusing on Valuation, Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets and Risk Management issues. He has also consulted for leading law firms on corporate finance issues.
Before getting his Ph.D., he spent 3 years with ICICI Bank., the second-largest financial institution in India with over $38 billion in assets and one of the first Indian companies to be listed on the NYSE (Ticker: IBN). His primary responsibilities included managing lending relationships with leading Indian corporations and arranging project finance for Textile and Energy sector companies.
