Women's full and equal participation is at the core of building strong and prosperous economies. Yet women throughout the world face significant barriers to achieving political voice, economic empowerment, and in some cases, the educational opportunities required to contribute fully to the economy.
Women's Leadership Initiative
Launched in the spring of 2003, the Georgetown University Women's Leadership Initiative (GUWLI) represents a partnership between the President's Office and the McDonough School of Business, dedicated to promoting the development and advancement of women leaders. The program aims to contribute to the social and economic progression of women by addressing their intellectual and
practical needs. GUWLI provides a forum for dialogue, the dissemination of knowledge and best practices, and skill-building for the women leaders of today and tomorrow.
Located in on of the world's most dynamic cities, Georgetown University offers unparalleled access to the world's business, government and non-governmental organization leaders, and is uniquely positioned to facilitate dialogue amongst these various constituencies. GUWLI provides a link between world-class leaders and creates opportunities through conferences, workshops and networking events for these women to collaborate with other women of influence throughout the world.
The Georgetown University Women's Leadership Initiative greatly appreciates the leadership
support from the Citigroup Foundation, as well as generous support from
other donors, including Ernst Young LLP, HarperCollins Publishers, and
Roselee Wayman.
