AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
Professor Droms specializes in investment asset allocation and portfolio
management for individual investors. His current research focuses on global
asset allocation and the investment performance of mutual funds. He teaches
courses in investment analysis and portfolio management.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Professor Droms, is the author or co-author of 12 books on finance and
investments, including Investment Fundamentals, The Dow Jones-Irwin Guide to
Personal Financial Planning, Dow Jones-Irwin No-Load Mutual Funds, The Life
Insurance Investment Advisor, and Finance and Accounting for Nonfinancial
Managers. His published research papers have appeared in numerous academic and
professional journals, including the Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of
Accountancy, CPA Journal, Journal of Financial Research, Applied Financial
Economics, and American Journal of Economics and Sociology. Professor Droms, a
chartered financial analyst, developed a proprietary portfolio allocation
scoring system (PASS) for individual investor asset allocation. This system has
been adapted for major banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms and CPA
practices.
