AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
Professor Bodurtha teaches derivative- and international financial
market-related courses. His research work has appeared in the Journal of Finance, the
Journal of Derivatives, the Journal of Derivatives Accounting, the Journal of
Financial and Quantitative Analysis and the Review of Financial Studies, as well as other
scholarly and applied publications. He has developed the Philadelphia Stock
Exchange Currency Options Database, and models for currency and interest rate
risk management, valuation, and accounting. This work and his other
research have been funded by Ohio State, Michigan, Bloomberg, Georgetown, the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, Citibank,
Nikko Securities, and
Société
Générale. He has served on the founding
committees of the University of Michigan
Rackam Graduate Financial Engineering and the Georgetown University
Industrial Leadership in Physics Ph.D. Programs.
Prof. Bodurtha's work includes management education, feasibility
studies, strategy formulation and risk management analyses for leading global
financial institutions. He was also core Executive Education faculty in the
Corporate Financial Management and Finance for the Non-Financial Manager
seminars at the Michigan Business School, which Business Week rated #1 in the
world.
He was recipient of the Jules I. Bogen
Fellowship, the AACSB-R.J. Reynolds Dissertation Fellowship, the Herman E.
Kroos Dissertation Award and a Queen's Univeristy Summer Research Fellowship. He has also
served on New York
University, The Ohio State University and University of Michigan faculties.
